The Denim Dame
Who here lives in their denim? Whether you wish to steal his jeans and grow a pair, opt for the embellished, distressed, skinny, boot, velvet, coated or straight there are so many ways to be a Denim Dame.
What’s your denim game? Adding edge to your arsenal in a leather or coated pair to revive that rock and roll rebellion perhaps? Or do you go soft at the knees for a luxurious touch in this season’s must-have fabric, velvet? Paige and Jbrand have some amazing autumnal toned babies that certainly pack a punch.
Distressed Boyfriend Jeans? no, they aren’t just reserved for the 6ft tall female, pair them with wedged trainers and even the petite have sprouted a foot instantly. This time, however, I was in search for a relaxed pair yet still wanted to look polished and feel comfortable.
I decided to head to my neighbourhood Trilogy, a multi-label boutique on Kensington Church Street (other locations are also available, do check out their site for one nearest to you-The Duke of York Square store is also worth a peek as is the Trilogy Denim Guide ).
It turns out they have the best selection of designer denim labels with all my faves; Jbrand, AG Jeans, Re/Done, Frame, CItizens of Humanity and Paige. There are even selected styles which are Trilogy exclusives.
As I skimmed the racks, I fell in love with their selection of cosy cashmere jumpers so soft it would be a task to refrain yourself from cat-lady like stroking. Most of all I adore their bold print labels like Chinti and Parker and elegant silk shirts from Equipment that can be teamed effortlessly with denim.

What’s not to love about boutique shopping? Personal service, some Evian to stay hydrated and a plush changing room free from crowds so I don’t have to rush my decision… Perfecto. Oh heavens yes! It was such a difficult decision deviating from my usual skinnies but finally, I decided on the straight cut Isabelle 9 Years from AG Jeans. It ticked all the boxes for me. Easy to dress down with some trainers or on a night out with heels. More importantly, for those of you suffering from that little bit of extra bulge between the thighs, I would recommend these jeans as the fabric is soft enough for comfort but stiff enough to not hug the unsightly bits.
Consequently, Jeans and a Tee go together like Chanel and Pearls, Tea and Scones, Popcorn and Butter..you get the idea. I paired my denim with a loose tee from Saint Laurent, gone are the days of the tighter the better.
My vintage Hermes belt ( Also styled differently in this post), white courts, corset choker and pink suede trench were also the perfect companions for an early morning cupcake run to Peggy Porschen Cakes. How inviting is that Belgravia in Bloom entrance? If that doesn’t draw you in the sugar-almond coated walls and shelves stacked high with sweet treats will!
P.S They do a scrumptious salted caramel slice and fragrant rose tea. Don’t forget to do some pretty pumpkin and gilded skull ogling after settling on a pastel table to commandeer. Did I mention blending my denim in with the decor was completely unplanned or was it? Nonetheless, It sure is getting me excited for Halloween!
